Should I continue with my restraining order?

I filed a restraining order on my son's dad. Reason is he try to hit me and all. If I want to continue with this I have to confirm with the judge on monday . But I don't see a point to this if he won't come. I know he won't because he hasn't come to not one of the child support court hearings. And I feel like it will be a waste of time for me. Since the family court won't do anything to him. Should I go forward with the restraining order?
