I have a legal aid attorney that is no good; what shall i go?

i have a legal aid attorney that is no good; and has not helped me one bit in family court matters conserning costody and visitation hearings and supervised visits. i have the children x boy friend is x con and seems to have more rights then i do. x was also abuseive and i am maried now, to some one; what can i do?
